How It Started…

We met Jen, owner of Howland Logistics through our friends at Sociality Squared. They knew we had experience with web builds and trusted we could improve the systems that Howland Logistics was working with. The main considerations for this website build were ease of use and streamlined functionality. As a logistics company, Howland is always looking for new drivers and, as such, the process to apply needed to be straight-forward and easy-to-understand from all devices. Many of the drivers apply from their phone, so we took that into account as well.

Often people think about the visual impact of a new website, but we are also keeping functionality top-of-mind. If your website looks great yet doesn’t work the way you need it to, what is the point?

We integrated Jotforms into the new website to make the application process simpler on the applicant and on the team at Howland who is responsible to processing applications.

The result is not only a more visually appealing website, but also a site that makes everyone’s life easier.

Website with an Online Driver’s Application

Prior to working with VVITCH, the Howland logistics website instructed applicants to print out a PDF application, complete it, and then scan the document or mail it in. This process was not efficient or secure — they require sensitive information in their applications. We knew that we could drastically improve the way the application worked.

The new website includes an integration with JotForm, which, after extensive research we found was the best solution given the complexity of the drivers application and the requirement that we be HIPAA compliant. Not only were we able to include a preliminary form that is embedded on the Howland Logistics website, but we were also able to include e-signatures where applicants complete and sign a series of disclosure forms. For drivers applying to work with Howland Logistics, they can rest easy knowing that this process is quick, easy and that their information is secure. For the hiring team at Howland Logistics, the amount of manual, back-and-forth has been reduced dramatically, making the task of hiring much easier.

We focus on usability when we create solutions for clients. We want them to be able to use their websites with ease, even after the project has wrapped.
